Internet services disrupted!!!

Two under water communication cables were cut in Egypt disrupting internet services all over the world. One of those cable damaged was near Alexandria, Egypt, and the other one were in the waters off Marseille, France. Many customers were affected by this disruption and things were brought under control by re routing the traffic. Some reports say that about 60 % of internet traffic was disrupted but business firms switched to back up plans and were able to get back quickly without much fuss.

Indira logathil all set to hit the screens

Well, Vadivelu is all set to take the center stage in a film for the second time. After, the stupendous success of “23-Pulikesi” Vadivelu is donning three different roles for the first time in “Indiralogathil Na. Alagappan”. The film is all set to roll out into the screens very soon. The film is said to be set in a mythological background with really stunning sets. The stills and trailers are already making waves among the fans. The main reason for his hits has been because they are complete family entertainers. Mixed with typical Vadivelu’s comedy they work out wonders in the box office.

2 crores for a song!!!

Seems like the new faces in Kollywood are really doing a lot. The latest buzz is that “Sakkrakatti” which is the directorial debut for Kalaipuli S.Thanu’s son Kalaprabhu is coming out well with ace director K.Bhagayaraj’s son Shanthnoo and Vedhika (of kaalai fame). The music is being scored by mastero A.R.Rahman. For one of the songs an elaborate set of how New York will look after 500 years has constructed at Prasad studios. When questioned the director quips saying the total cost of the song will be around 2 crores.

Title change for "Kuselan"

Well the film right now creating waves in South India is to undergo a title change. Starring Rajinikanth and Pasupathi the film is all set to role out. But writer actor Srineevasan who did the original is skeptical about the title. The title “kuselan” is the name of Krishna’s friend who approaches his rich pal during trying times. Sreenivasan thinks the title is not apt as the story does not go like that. The fill will have the super star playing role that Malayalam star Mammooty played in the original and Pasupathi playing the role earlier donned by Srineevasan.

"Kaalai" changes

The director of “kaalai” Tarun gopi is making some changes to the film. He has changed the sequence of scenes t make the film less ambiguous and more interesting. He has taken the decision heeding to the request from fans. Now, the scenes with Sangeetha that appeared after interval have been shifted before interval and Simbu’s revenge have been shifted after the interval. Let’s hope this change makes some magic at the box office.

Hirthik's lost chance!!!

Well time for some gossiping it seems that Hirthik the tall handsome charming guy of the Hollywood was the first one who was offered the Swades. But, it seems that Hirthik rejected the offer however Ashtuosh(director of Swades) didn’t really get bogged down by it and cast the king khan in the role. The Bollywood Basha as usual cast his magic and came out in flying colors.

But, now when Ashutosh started his dream project Akbar he approached Roshan junior again and this time Hirthik accepted the offer with glee. But, the film seems to have taken its toll on the cool man. Apart from the constant elephant rides, sword fights and heavy accessories he has got annoyed due to the two years it has taken to complete the film. Lets hope the smarty gets out in flying colors.

"Nano" for Nano price!!!

So, finally the car for the middle class has arrived. Ratan Tata unveiled the cheapest car in market. The car is priced at 1, 00,000 rupees. The car is expected to give a mileage of about 20 kilometer per liter. The car has an engine of 624cc (really cool ah!!) and is almost half the price as the current cheapest car in the market. The car named ‘Nano’ will also have lower pollution levels than a two wheeler. Hope this stays in the market for long!!

76 year old to climb everest!!!

Well do you think climbing the mountains is so easy?? I don’t think so!! The latest buzz is that a 76 year old man named Min Bahadur Sherchan is planning to climb Mount Everest. (OOPS I could not believe it!!!). The Nepali believes that his act of courage will inspire the younger generation to follow suit. If the man is successful in scaling the 8,850 feet then he will overtake the previous record held by a Japanese man in being the oldest man to scale the Everest. The expedition is said to start from March along with 12 other explorers.

ZIP code decoded!!!

Don’t know how to decode ZIP code?? Ha ha!! ZIP stands for zoning improvement code. For some more information for you it came to use in America only from July 1, 1963. Actually ZIP were an improvement of a postal zone system that were being used in larger cities before that.

Well, for United States the ZIP code can be decoded as follows:

First digit is used to denote a broad geographical area in U.S that could range from zero for the Northeast to nine for the far West.

Then the two digits that follow it are used are used to denote the concentration of population within those areas. The final two digits actually specify the small post offices or postal zones in larger and complex cities. The extra digits came into existence in 1983to denote the location.

Pollock calls it a day!!!

Shaun Pollock has decided to retire from international test cricket with the ongoing test against West Indies. He has also decided to retire from the ODI's with the 5 match series that follows the test series against West Indies. Pollock in his illustrious career has so far scalped 420 Test wickets, the most by a South African, and 387 in ODIs. Pollock who is currently playing his 108th test had been previously dropped for six consecutive tests. He had been unable to cop up with the stiff competition from youngsters like Steyn. Hats off to this versatile cricketer.

Britney’s last chance!!!

It is learned that Monday’s trial could very well be the last chance for the custody fight of Britney Spears. Though legally there is no need for Spears to appear in the court she will have to appear and explain the situation personally if she is to have any chance of winning her kids back.

Witness from LAPD, firefighting department and medics will be present in the court to testify the scene when Britney attempted suicide. Probably the witness will go against her and she will have to face humiliation in the court.

The LAPD is getting ready to face the situation with even metal detectors in place just in case and they are not ready to take any chances this time.

Blu-Ray hands out death punch to HD DVD

Finally Blu Ray hands out another death punch to HD DVD. Paramount studios the leading Hollywood film producer has decided to entirely switch over from HD DVD format to Blu Ray following Warner Brothers. Warner Brothers have been producing both HD DVD and Blu Ray when it decided to drop HD DVD. But, Paramount has not been producing Blu-Ray so far. This is the first time a leading house is switching entirely from one format to another. This leaves only universal in the HD DVD format.

Are you one of those greeny freaks? Then here is one thing that is going to cheer you up. eMotion EM-Sol1GIG is a new MP3 player designed to go on with solar power. It may not be as handy as your ipods but is sure to help you out during your hiking trips or camps. It will even charge your cell phone.

The chunky player is pretty heavy and wont fit into your pockets. But, when you open it up what you get is a pair of solar panels that will charge up your players. Even more cooler is that it has six connectors that will charge up your cell phones, laptops, and other electronic devices.

The device is capable of playing MP3, WMA, and WAV audio files, along with AVI and MPEG-4 video. The screen of 3.5-inch, 320-by-240-pixel display is decent enough. The device also does have a text file reader; photo viewer and also a game emulator that can run NES, Gameboy and Sega games. Oh, one more thing it also has got a LED flashlight.

All the features seem really cool but the blockade is that the player lacks a bit in the storage department—it has only 1GB of internal flash memory and a 4GB version is being developed. It has got a SD memory card slot can expand that total by another 2GB.

The chunky made mainly for the woods costs $149 now and is predicted to go down as the market gets up.

A Wall sized screen at home!!!!

Panasonic foretells something that they claim will be part of every house. They say that a gigantic wall will act as a screen for bringing the family together.

The concept has been named “Life Wall”. A prototype of the model has been displayed and it really looks very cool. The coolest part of the design is that it allows you to move the screen at the call of the family members and ability to reduce or increase the size of the screen at the wave of hand. It can also adjust itself to the size of the wall.

But, the problem is that you can no more decorate your walls with picaso’s or with anything else. But Panasonic believes that in future it will be a different type of decoration for your homes.

They have demonstrated a variety of activities with this Life wall technology like students doing research in the internet and then switching to games or TV. Parents can keep and eye on their child playing on backyard or sleeping through video cameras in their room. Also, the main part that is watching movies.

That is sure to rock on in the future but let’s hope first it is affordable.

Rumors have it that boy friend of pop star Britney Spears sister Jamie-Lynn has been dumped by her boy friend. This news comes in the wake of the 16 year old Jamie-Lynn announcing her pregnancy. Now, Casey Aldridge her old boy friend seeks a paternity to test to verify whether he is the real father of the unborn child. Now Aldridge is said to be dating other women.

Poor Jamie-Lynn and her sister I don’t know how much trouble they will undergo.

Reporters have it that actress Kate Winslet has replaced Nicole Kidman in post-World War II drama THE READER being directed by director Stephen Daldry. The reports adds that Oscar winner Kidman pulled out of the drama stating her pregnancy as the reason. Titanic star Winslet will now fill up the void created. She will play alongside Ralph Fiennes in the movie. The movie is supposed to be based on the Bernhard Schlink best-seller. Shooting for the movie is set to start on the film this coming February/ March.
